Richard L. Hendershot, CPA, Founder

Richard “Rick” L. Hendershot was the founder of Hendershot, Burkhardt & Associates, Certified Public Accountants, PC. He was called home by our Lord on March 29, 2017. Rick founded our firm in 1996.

He had practiced in Virginia, District of Columbia and Maryland. Rick had over 40 years’ experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He served on the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s Not-for-Profit Technical Committee. Richard was a retired professor at Strayer University. He taught graduate and undergraduate level accounting and religion courses.

Rick believed in giving back to our community. He served as Chair and Treasurer of numerous non-profit boards; Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Prince William Health System Foundation’s Board of Directors, Leadership Prince William, Manassas Rotary Club and Prince William Symphonic Orchestra to name a few.

Rick’s insight, commitment to excellence, customer service, and dedication was the cornerstone of our firm. We continue his legacy and his vision.

Dave specializes in income tax planning and preparation of tax returns for individuals, business, estates and not-for-profit organizations.

Jennifer has over 20years in public accounting. Jennifer hasexperience providing audits, primarily for not-for-profit organizations,preparing tax returns and tax planning, and providing bookkeeping services forclients.

Monica is an administrative staff member at Hendershot-Burkhardt Tax Services. Bilingual in Spanish and English, she plays an important role in enhancing client communication and providing exceptional service.
